Rumors abound that she would perform during the halftime show of the 2016 show. Adele had something else to say.
Over the past week, rumors abound that Adele would perform during 2017's Super Bowl LI (51) halftime show. During that time, the rumor grew, with belief that Adele would also announce her second pregnancy. During a concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, the singer-songwriter denied any of this, having this to say on the matter:
"They heard that I was going to announce it at the Super Bowl. So first of all, I’d like to tell you I’m not doing the Super Bowl. Well, come on. I mean, I mean, come on. That show is not about music. And I don’t really, I don’t dance or anything like that. So they were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no. I’m sorry. But maybe next time, when I do my next album, because I’m going to do a dance album next time. So maybe I’ll do it then. But apparently someone said I was going to announce it at the Super Bowl—I was like, 'I was seven months pregnant when people found out I was pregnant last time—I’m hardly going to announce it at the Super Bowl, am I?' Fucking stupid rumors. People are so fucking stupid, I’ll tell you. Including my friend, I’ll tell you that. But anyway, I just wanted to clear that up before that rumor got any further, that I was pregnant."
