Go Rail Magazine, the in-flight magazine of the Irish train service, is part of the Hot Press media stable
• and we have exhilarating plans for its growth and development over the coming 12 months. This is a really exciting opportunity for a candidate with significant media sales experience
• and the ambition to make their mark and become a key part of the management team in a highly successful media operation.
The successful candidate will also handle advertising sales for Enterprise Magazine, as well as participating in the development and growth of advertising revenues across all of Hot Press' publishing and media activities.

• Hot Press, the magazine
• Hotpress.com, the website The Hot Press Yearbook
• The Hot Press Annual
• Go Rail, the magazine of the train service in Ireland
• Enterprise, the magazine of the Enterprise Express
• Best of Ireland, a superb glossy annual guide
• Best of Dublin, its acclaimed sister publication… and a variety of one-off consumer, b-to-b and bespoke books, titles and initiatives.
In addition, we organise a range of events, exhibitions, music partnerships, online activities, mobile applications, social network campaigns and national competitions, in music, media, fashion, design, writing, film, sport, education, photography and more.
As a key member of the sales team, you will be expected to meet ambitious sales targets for Go Rail magazine and Enterprise Magazine, as well as contributing to the company’s overall commercial development.
In carrying out your work, the successful candidate will be required to
•Represent Go Rail and Enterprise magazines in a strong and effective manner
•Manage advertising, sponsorship and related sales on the two titles
•Be highly focussed and successful at achieving targets
•Make presentations and sell to advertising agencies and major clients
•Manage the relationships with key brands, and negotiate yearly contracts.
•Expand the existing client base and attract additional revenue streams
•Work with our Editorial, Design & Marketing teams to deliver first class results to clients
•Develop new ideas, concepts and products with commerical potential across publishing, online and events platforms
•Be a good team player, helping us to realise the full commercial potential of the company
The successful candidate will need the following qualities:
• A proven track record of sales achievements within the media industry
• A keen awareness of the importance of meeting targets
• The ability and attitude required to work effectively as part of a team
• The independence necessary to take on personal responsibility for clients
• The drive to really contribute to the future development of an exciting media business
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, time management & organisational skills
• An understanding of the potential of the internet and social media in a wider promotional mix
• The imagination to come up with new ideas and concepts
• The commitment to get the hard work done
